Apple introduced new security products along with the release of a HomePod Mini smart speaker, Apple TV 4K streaming device, and the HomeView, a smart home display powered by Siri AI. The new Home Collection smart security products will be released in December, with some available for shipping by early 2027.
Apple announced in a press release that the new products can be easily configured using just one tap from an iPhone and controlled through the Apple Home app and the updated Siri artificial intelligence.

Matthew Costello, Apple’s VP of Hardware Engineering, stated that the Apple Home Collection simplifies the selection of smart home accessories, ensuring ease and confidence. Costello emphasized the collaboration with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric to create accessories that seamlessly integrate with Apple Home, providing a straightforward, dependable, and private home management experience.
The Apple Home Collection will be available soon.

Apple’s previous smart home offerings were mainly smart speakers and streaming devices. The introduction of security products marks a new market opportunity for the company and is the second significant launch under the leadership of CEO John Ternus, following the iPhone launch event in September.
The release of the new Apple smart home devices aligns with previous reports by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Apple is set to unveil additional products, such as a touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro, later this month.

The latest Apple security cameras are compatible with iCloud+ and provide users with a 10-day event video history, as stated in an Apple announcement. Additionally, the cameras feature on-device storage for situations where the user’s WiFi network is not accessible.
Apple Intelligence on qualifying iCloud+ subscriptions provides automatic video summaries and allows users to search videos using natural language. Live camera feeds can be accessed conveniently through the Home app on various Apple devices for quick snapshots without opening a full livestream.
LG Video Doorbell
The latest Video Doorbell from Apple and LG Electronics includes two cameras for recording visitors and packages at the door. Users can switch between the front and bottom cameras, with the front camera offering 2.5K video quality and the bottom camera providing full HD resolution. Additionally, the doorbell comes with a built-in spotlight and chime that can be heard through the HomeView smart display, HomePod, and HomePod mini.

LG Indoor and Outdoor Camera
The Apple Outdoor Cam, similar to the floodlight camera, includes a color night vision mode and is designed for easy self-installation. The indoor camera automatically adjusts its angle for privacy and stops monitoring when not in use. Users can also manually control the camera using the Apple Home app.
The indoor camera is priced at $199.95, whereas the outdoor camera is $299.95.
